6574 Days…

I would do anything...and I mean ANYTHING for you. It's a good yet weird feeling because there are things I would do for you that I probably wouldn't even do for myself but...I guess that's what they call "Mothers Love".

I love being your mae (mum), everything about it is deliriously divine. Even the moments of growth, those moments that don't feel so good, have and continue to give me a sense of peace in knowing that we are both continuing to learn from each other as we move through life as mother and son.

At the exact moment I gave you life on Tuesday the 20th of May 2004 at 9:50pm, you gave me life too...your birth made me a mother.

6574 Days...18 years of earthly life, 18 years of laughter and joy, 18 years of growth and evolution, 18 years of unconditional love...18 years of you being Jordan Lettieri Pereira!

Happy 18th Birthday Jordan, welcome to the world of adulthood, whatever adulthood even means! lol Most of us "adults" (me included!) are still trying to figure it all out, learning by trial and error along the way which is what you will do too. Yes, more responsibility does come with being an adult BUT, that does not mean you need to change who you are to meet those responsibilities. Staying true to yourself, your beliefs, integrity and morals is imperative in maintaining peace within yourself, a healthy mind and body and a sense connection with your inner being. Sounds "airy fairy" doesn't it?! lol But what else would you expect to hear from your "all things spiritual" loving mum?! haha

In all seriousness meu amor, while "adulting" never break away from your true self to please others, as long as your actions come from a place of love, respect and kindness then you are on the right track and...on the right track you are! While you navigate adulthood remember that you have absolutely no control of other people's actions and reactions but you do have control of your own. You can't (nor should you) change or try to change others but you can change yourself if the change will make you happy and grow as a person. During moments of "pain" and "hurt" contemplate the wise phrase by Rumi... "The wound is the place where the light enters"...this phrase soothes me and I hope it soothes you too when navigating unpleasant situations.

One more thing...you WILL f$@k up, we ALL do! Learn from it and move forward allowing the light that enters the wound to heal and teach you while you evolve. Oh and another thing! There are epic humans out there but, there are some not so epic ones too! You will meet both breeds, keep those that cheer for your health, peace & happiness close and distance yourself from the others.

I could go on and on and ON with advice in the hope that my experiences will help you avoid certain situations but, I know you need to learn some of those things by experiencing them yourself. Just know that you have a tribe of people who love you deeply and care for you, people who like me will move heaven and earth for you. Most of this tribe is here on earth and only a phone call away and others, like your dear Vo Bella, may not be here physically but equally as available to you but only in a slightly different way. Count on Vo Bella through prayer and on those on earth through communication via whatever means that is available at the time eg face to face, phone etc. Just know that you are NEVER alone through this new phase of adulthood, we are all here to guide in whatever way we can.

Thank you for 18 years of loving me the way you do, the love of a son is like no other and I am blessed beyond words to ride the next phase of your life right there next to you.

6574 days...was just the beginning!

I Lurf u...your forever fossil aka mumsy, parsley toes.

Mae…aka,

Roberta Lettieri
