Primal Sapien…

If you’re not a fan of reading I’ve got you covered! Click Here to listen to this episode.

There’s this guy I know who is slowly but surely sharing his deep passion for well-being with those he comes across that are sick and tired of being…sick and tired!

Look at the picture below and look closely. As I stood there taking in the endless aisles and rows of tablets I couldn’t help but feel that we’ve been lied to. First they make us sick and then they offer us a pill and, we accept it. If we didn’t, if we said “no, that’s enough!” then our supermarkets and chemists wouldn’t look like this! Mind you, the picture below is only the vitamins and supplements shelves, it does not include the medicine (drug) shelves! A hand full of supplements and vitamins would be ok but rows and rows and rows…gosh, this is so f#&@king bad!

We are constantly fed (no pun intended!) information about what we should and shouldn’t be eating in order to live a healthy life. BUT…most (not all) of this information is misleading and, given to us (like another pill we don’t need) based on how much money it might make an organisation if we buy into it. Who to believe? Who to trust? Who to look up to when all we can see is an increase of obesity, disease and death based on leading our lives in the way “they” told us was healthy…who?!

So this guy I know, he’s had enough, enough of feeling run down, bloated and tired even after eating “healthy” and exercising just the way he was taught was the “healthy” way to do it. If it’s the “healthy way” then why was he and the majority of others still feeling like S#&t and relying on a pill for “this” and a pill for “that”?! So, this guy I know made a change and created…

Primal Sapien…is Gilbert Fidelis and, Gilbert Fidelis is the guy I know who took a step in making a change instead of expecting a change without taking a step.

Gilbert loves to cook and has deep-seeded roots to his Brazilian culture and cuisine. Changing what he has trusted and believed in all his life was not easy to say the least but, he did it and he did it for the sake of his long-term wellbeing and health. The benefits of the changes implemented started to show almost immediately for Gilbert, so much so that he created Primal Sapien, a website where he can share his experience in the hope that people get to see that it does not take much to make small yet vital changes to live a life of EASE and not DISease.

For Gilbert it started as a vision, seeing his “now” and his “future” in a peaceful, healthy and vibrant way helped him take the next step forward. Change itself is one of the hardest steps of the journey to wellness, creating new habits takes time and commitment. So many people default to “I don’t have the time” for this or “I don’t have the money” for that but let me ask you a question…Do you have the time to be sick? Do you have the money for doctors, specialists, treatments and medicine? See where I am getting at?! If you don’t dedicate some time to your health now or a little bit of money to make better food choices then you’ll have to make the time later to deal with DISease and, spend money to try and make yourself better…ultimately it’s YOUR choice…what do YOU choose, now or later?

Of course there are some illnesses that are out of our control BUT…many are not, many are created by the choices we make and the choices we don’t make.

When it comes to health, I for one am a work in progress and, I will forever be a work in progress! There are MANY changes I have already made but…there are still MANY more to go. My choice to be Vegan for the past two and a half years means that I have to be more diligent with what I consume and how much I consume of it. I don’t use supplements and vitamins to replace food, nor do I reply on them for my nutrients. I use them to enhance and support my way of living. For example, on top of having some (not enough!) fermented foods I also take a probiotic every day to support the health of my digestive and immune system. Another example would be that I take Vitamin B12 along with eating foods high in B12 such as tofu, nutritional yeast etc. Most people don’t know that B12 isn’t actually produced by animals per se, this vitamin is actually synthesized by certain bacteria and archaea. Our ancestors would get their B12 supply in the form of bacteria on root vegetables pulled from the ground and by drinking water from natural sources…bet the media & your doctor didn’t tell you that! Yep, “they” twist things to make it suit “them” and their “agenda” aka $$$$$.

Ok, back on topic! lol My point is that by getting curious and starting to make changes you can be a step closer to the physical, mental and spiritual wellness you desire. As Gilbert says, “the physical changes you start to see is just a bonus! What really matters is how the changes make you feel overall”. If you want to make some changes in order to reap the results I suggest you start by having a look through what Gilbert has put together on his website by clicking here. Although his site is a work in progress, what he has up already is simple and easy to understand. If you decide that you want to take the next step forward but don’t know how, simply reach out to him via his contact page. He can’t and will never give you health advise, he’s not a doctor but…what he will do is provide you with some guidance which will assist you on your journey.

This man I know, Primal Sapien, Gilbert Fidelis is…someone I admire, someone that I am proud of, someone who is my safe place, someone I love very much…this man is my fiancé.

With Kindness,

Roberta Lettieri
