Meow Meow…

A cottage on some lush green land, family, a stable with 2 horses, 1 dog, 2 cats, chickens, a couple of goats and a monkey...yes, a monkey! That's one of the dreams, the thought of that makes my whole-body melt into pure bliss.

We'd roam from the land to the little cottage...we'd all be free, living in harmony. It's simple I know and to some it might sound "weird", especially the monkey part lol BUT, it's my bliss.

Simplicity & connection is what I crave, it's what I am working on, it's who I am growing into, it's who and what I want in my life... it's what I see when I look at the animal kingdom.

Meow Meow...says Jinga my cat as she sways past me in all her connected simplicity to go bathe in the sunshine as if that's (bathing in the sunshine) all that exists and matters. You know what though, she's right, that (bathing in the sunshine) is all that matters in that moment because a moment, right now is all we ever have!

I absolutely adore cats and have been blessed to adopt two special little ones in the last few years.

First came Miagi, he was out of this world special and had the most stunning eyes. With the most magical eyes he would often sit on our chest and look into our eyes as he purred, knowing we needed whatever type of "cleansing" he was offering at that point in time.

Miagi was the type of cat that wanted to be as close as possible to us, at times laying across my face to feel the air coming out of my nose, literally could not get any closer! Purrrfect (lol) example below!

He would bring the kids and I leaves, it was like he knew the kids and I didn't eat meat. He could literally build a little pile of leaves, the "tougher" the day the more leaves he brought in, it's like he knew when we needed extra "gifts"...that was his way of pampering us when we really needed it.

The little fellow was like a puppy, he’d sit on my lap while I worked, watched me get ready to go out and pulled the funniest faces! He truely brought us joy and a whole lot of laughter.

Miagi left us at a young age, he was not even two years old when he made his transition. It was like as soon as he fulfilled his purpose in our home and with our family he "flew". His little legacy, the one of caring and giving, went on even after his passing. We donated his organs & body to help other animals not have to go through what he did. He was a healer and giver in and after life on earth.

Mimi, we are forever grateful for your cheekiness, softness, intuition and love.

Sometime after Miagi's transition we were ready for more fur in the house lol That's when little Jinga chose us and we couldn't have been happier.

JiJi (short for Jinga) is a total opposite to Miagi in the sense that she likes her independence…she is a girl after all haha She is cheeky and sassy to say the least.

She loves to parade her tiger like stripes around the house and pretend that she owns the place lol She also has “dog like” qualities as she loves to play hide and seek…yep, she plays hide and seek! And she does the finding too, not just the hiding!

She too cracks us up with the way she says “bless you” when we sneeze (I can show you if you don’t believe me! lol) and tries to steal food when we are least expecting it. She’s also known to open a door or too and also loves to put her little head under the running tap as she tries to lap up the water as I brush my teeth in the morning lol

There is no bull$hit with animals, they just know and they have no issues in letting us know that they know! Their sense of character is next to non, if someone is “shady” they will avoid them like the plague…I love that about animals. I don’t think my fiance knows but, one of the reasons I ended up getting in a serious relationship with him (other than his smile, eyes, honesty, morals & sexyness ;) lol ) is because of that stripy fluffy face above! If JiJi had turned her nose up at him when he first came over he wouldn’t stand a chance haha ;) But she didn’t, not only did she go straight up to him, she followed him everywhere and purred like there was no tomorrow. Mind you, she could have been following him around to make sure he didn’t steal anything but…I guess we’ll never know lol

We adore our little tiger, we feel super blessed to know that in her own little way she chose us too.

That connected simplicity that both Miagi and Jinga helped me evolve is something I’ll continue to look out for in my surroundings, those I meet and within myself. There is a lot we can learn from the animals we come across, all we need to do is stop thinking we are superior and take the time to learn.

With Kindness,

Roberta Lettieri
